// workshops

Sixty minutes that change how students see the bin.

A FRSH workshop takes a class from “food waste” to “stored energy” — using a working digester and the students' own kitchen numbers.

// the session

What happens in the hour.

Four parts, in this order. Nothing runs longer than the demonstration.

  1. Ten minutes on why food waste is an energy story, not a disposal problem.
  2. Twenty minutes with real numbers — every student estimates their own kitchen using our calculator.
  3. Twenty minutes with a working digester and its raw log: what it produced, and what went wrong.
  4. Ten minutes on safety, and the one thing each student can do next week.
// what we need

Almost nothing.

If your school has these four things, we can run a session.

  1. A classroom or hall with seats for 15–40 students, and a table we can work on.
  2. A projector or a screen, for the calculator and the pilot photographs.
  3. A teacher in the room. Required for any students under 18, and welcome to ask questions.
  4. A ventilated spot outdoors, if we bring the digester itself. Never a classroom indoors.
// the cost

Free. Genuinely.

FRSH is a student-led non-profit. We do not charge schools, we do not sell kits and we do not take a share of anything. If getting to your school costs us travel money, that is our problem, not yours.

// where we are

We are preparing our first session.

We would rather say that plainly than pretend to a track record we do not have. Our first workshop is being written around our home-scale pilot right now. If you would like your class to be among the first, tell us — early requests shape the session.
